Business Brand is a flexible business theme with a widget-driven homepage, suitable for almost any type of company website. Out of the box it behaves like a standard blog. The designed homepage is a page template, so it only appears once you create a page and assign it — this is the step most people miss.
1. Set up the homepage
- Go to Pages → Add New and give the page a title (for example Home). Leave the content empty — the template supplies the layout.
- In the Page Attributes box, set Template to Home Page.
- Publish the page.
- Go to Settings → Reading, choose A static page, and set Homepage to the page you just created.
The template file is front-page.php if you ever need to find it.
2. Create a page for your posts
Still under Settings → Reading, set Posts page to a second empty page (for example Blog). Without this, your posts have nowhere to live once the homepage is static.
3. Fill in the homepage sections
Everything on the homepage is driven from Appearance → Customize. See Customizer Options for the full reference.
The homepage banner has 4 slider slots. Empty slots are skipped, so you can use as few as one.
4. Set your menu
Go to Appearance → Menus, create a menu, and assign it to a location:
- Top Header — the
header-top-menulocation. - Header — the
header-menulocation. - Footer — the
footer-menulocation.
5. Add widgets
Under Appearance → Widgets you will find these areas:
- Sidebar
- Home Top Slider Post
- Home Top Middle Slider Post
- Home Post List
- Footer Section 1
- Footer Section 2
- Footer Section 3
- Footer Section 4
A note on demo content
Business Brand does not bundle a one-click demo importer. The homepage is assembled from Customizer settings and your own posts and images, so there is no demo database to import — fill in the sections and it takes shape as you go.
