Its companion plugin, <strong>Legal Pro<\/strong>, is what carries the premium features \u2014 editorial skins, the demo importer, light\/dark mode, the WOW Effects pack, and so on. This article covers the Pro license: what it includes, how to activate it, and how updates flow.<\/p>\n<h2>What&#8217;s included in a Legal Pro license<\/h2>\n<p>One purchase covers all of the following, on unlimited sites you own:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All eight current Pro features (Premium Skins, Demo Importer, Light\/Dark Mode, Dual Logo, Font Pairings, Mega-Menu, Schema.org Pro, WOW Effects)<\/li>\n<li>Every Pro feature added in future releases for as long as the license is active<\/li>\n<li>Auto-updates \u2014 when we ship a new version of Legal Pro, your site sees it under <strong>Plugins<\/strong> the same way it sees core WordPress updates<\/li>\n<li>Priority email support \u2014 replies within eight business hours, usually faster<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The license is sold as a one-time payment with lifetime updates. There&#8217;s no recurring subscription, no per-site limit, and no feature gating beyond &#8220;is the license active.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>Activating your license<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>After you complete checkout, you&#8217;ll receive an email containing your license key. The key is a long alphanumeric string \u2014 keep this email somewhere you can find it again.<\/li>\n<li>Install and activate the Legal Pro plugin from <strong>Plugins \u2192 Add New \u2192 Upload Plugin<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Go to <strong>Appearance \u2192 Legal Pro License<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Paste your key into the <strong>License Key<\/strong> field.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Activate License<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The plugin makes a request to <code>fasterthemes.com<\/code> to verify the key. If it succeeds, the page reloads showing the license as <em>Active<\/em>, and you&#8217;ll see the eight Pro features marked with check marks at the bottom of the page.<\/p>\n<p>If activation fails, the most common causes are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The key has whitespace<\/strong> \u2014 copying from email sometimes adds a leading or trailing space. Re-paste the key, making sure there&#8217;s no whitespace.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Your server can&#8217;t reach fasterthemes.com<\/strong> \u2014 some firewalls block outbound HTTPS to specific domains. Ask your host to whitelist <code>fasterthemes.com<\/code>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The key was activated on too many sites<\/strong> \u2014 although the license allows unlimited sites, the activation system tracks site URLs. If you&#8217;ve moved a site (e.g., from <code>staging.example.com<\/code> to <code>example.com<\/code>), deactivate the license on the old URL first.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Where to find your license key later<\/h2>\n<p>Two places:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Your purchase confirmation email from FasterThemes<\/li>\n<li>Your account dashboard at <a href=\"https:\/\/fasterthemes.com\">fasterthemes.com<\/a> \u2014 log in with the email you used at checkout, and your active licenses are listed under your profile<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If you&#8217;ve lost both, contact <code>support@fasterthemes.com<\/code> with the email address you used at purchase. We&#8217;ll resend the key.<\/p>\n<h2>How automatic updates work<\/h2>\n<p>When your license is active, the Legal Pro plugin checks for updates daily. Specifically:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>WordPress&#8217;s regular plugin update check (every 12 hours by default) makes a request to <code>fasterthemes.com<\/code> for the latest Legal Pro version number<\/li>\n<li>If the server reports a newer version than what you have installed, an update notice appears next to Legal Pro on the <strong>Plugins<\/strong> page<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Update Now<\/strong> and WordPress downloads the new version, replaces the old one, and reactivates the plugin in place<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Settings, license activation, and your site&#8217;s customizer values are all preserved across updates. The only files replaced are the plugin&#8217;s own files in <code>wp-content\/plugins\/legal-pro\/<\/code>.<\/p>\n<h2>What happens when a license expires<\/h2>\n<p>Lifetime licenses don&#8217;t expire \u2014 but it&#8217;s worth knowing what would happen if a license were deactivated for any reason (you cancelled, refunded, or transferred ownership):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Pro plugin keeps running. Your site doesn&#8217;t break.<\/li>\n<li>The Pro features <em>stop applying on the frontend<\/em>. You&#8217;ll see the bare theme instead of the active skin, font pairing, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Your settings are <em>preserved<\/em>. If the license is reactivated, the features come back exactly as you had them.<\/li>\n<li>Auto-updates stop. You can still update the plugin manually by uploading a new zip if you re-acquire access.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This is by design \u2014 we never want to leave a customer&#8217;s site in a broken state because of a license issue.<\/p>\n<h2>Transferring a license to a new site<\/h2>\n<p>If you&#8217;re moving a site from one URL to another (e.g., development to production):<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>On the old site, go to <strong>Appearance \u2192 Legal Pro License<\/strong> and click <strong>Deactivate License<\/strong>. This frees up the activation slot.<\/li>\n<li>On the new site, install Legal Pro and activate the license normally with the same key.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If the old site is already gone (e.g., deleted, or you&#8217;ve lost access), email support and we can manually free the activation on our end.<\/p>\n<h2>Getting support<\/h2>\n<p>Active licenses include priority email support. Email <a href=\"mailto:support@fasterthemes.com\">support@fasterthemes.com<\/a> with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A description of the issue<\/li>\n<li>Your site URL<\/li>\n<li>Steps to reproduce, if it&#8217;s a bug<\/li>\n<li>Any error messages or screenshots<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We aim for replies within eight business hours, and usually much faster.
