License & Updates

How license activation works, what happens when it expires, and how to move between sites.

How licensing works

A Food Recipes Pro license is a one-site, lifetime license. You pay once and get automatic updates and priority support for one full year. After that year, the plugin keeps working forever — you just stop receiving new versions and email support unless you renew.

This is deliberate. We don't believe in software that bricks itself when a subscription lapses. Your site keeps running. Your recipes keep their Schema markup. Your dark mode keeps toggling. You only renew if you want what's new.

Activating a license

Go to Settings → Food Recipes Pro. Paste your license key and click Activate. The plugin contacts our license server, validates the key, and stores the activation locally.

Where do I find my key? Your license key is in the order confirmation email and in your FasterThemes account dashboard under Licenses.

Receiving updates

With an active license, new versions appear in the standard WordPress Plugins page when they're released. Click Update Now like you would for any other plugin. We don't have a separate update mechanism, separate panel, or separate cron job — it's the way WordPress already works, just with our server delivering the package.

Updates are checked once every 12 hours in the background. If you want to force a check, deactivate and reactivate the license on this page.

Moving to a new site

To move your license between sites:

  1. On the old site, go to Settings → Food Recipes Pro and click Deactivate.
  2. On the new site, install the plugin, paste the same key, and click Activate.

If you've lost access to the old site (server gone, hosting cancelled), log into your account at fasterthemes.com and use the Force Deactivate link next to the license. The old activation will be released and you can activate elsewhere.

Renewing

About 14 days before your license year ends, you'll receive an email with a renewal link. Renewing is optional — the plugin keeps working — but it gives you another year of updates and support, usually at a 30% loyalty discount.

Multiple sites

If you run several food blogs, each needs its own license. We don't sell unlimited-site or multi-site bundle licenses today, but we do offer a manual discount for 3+ keys purchased in one order — drop us a note and we'll set you up.
